Rejig of Posters for FINAL SHOW

Going to be working on my poster designs for the Birmingham show, as the prints were not to professional and acceptable to what I was trying to portray, as most of the visitors were confused.

Pyramids

Right, the installation is complete now. I'm actually tired of looking at pyramids, and I don't wanna set sight on them till the weekend.

One week remaining; and loose ends need to be tied.

Taking down to LONDON;

• 3x books
• Pyramid installation
• Laptop/charger+VGA cable+projector+extension lead+tape to cover the cables
• 4 A1 Posters + Fishing wire + sticky ceiling hooks + bulldog clips
• Masking tape + Masonry paint for the floor + tape measure

Some way of cutting off the installation and stopping the visitors walking through it. Either red tape masked around the white painted 3x3m2 square or fenced off?

Book & Installation so far...

The installation has been undercoated, and now needs a gloss finish + an extra smaller, flatter ramp-style pyramids to complete the set. If I can figure how to create them, then they will be constructed, if not, I wil be constructing smaller sized pyramids to become over shadowed by the taller ones.

My book so far. It needs to be binded (japanese binded) along side this, another 2 more books need to be made, which will be done during Monday morning & during Tuesday's lesson.

• Edit of the motion graphics that will be projected over the installation, needs to be done
• And macro shots of the smaller installation to be printed out as A1 prints alongside the two typographic posters.

ON SCHEDULE!

Sunday 15th May

After neighbours complaining with the sounds, I gave the construction a rest for today. Setting out the pyramids to how they would be placed, I've decided that it would be best if there were smaller ones that surrounded the larger.

Two photos taken on how far I have got. One of them with me to show the sizes of the pyramids compared to me.

(me: 1.75m/taller pyramid: 1.20m)

Saturday 14th May

Completed 7 half pyramids today, one of which is 1.2m high, roughly higher than the waist.

If all goes to plan, all 12 pyramids will be constructed by Monday, which leaves me to paint them all white in coming week, allowing at least a week to breathe.

- 3 Books will be printed on Tuesday 17th and binded during Ellen's lesson on Thursday. The Japanese binding technique will be used to bring it all together.

- Posters printed in this week also.

Start of the larger pyramids.

Start of the larger pyramid. 600 x 600 x 1200. Will be completed for tmrw night. The smaller (experiment) pyramid is 260 x 260 x 480. Sanded down, just needs a lick of white paint. Process is long winded with the cutting and putting together, but I think going through the process of cutting all the pieces in one night, and just sticking them the other, so I don't leave it to last minute. Apart from that, i'm happy with the result.

Today. I Wood You

Masking taped together just to see if it would of worked, as the other trial models would either be to small or too big to fit together. In the end a solution was found, and fingers crossed the first pyramid will be complete.

The solution was to have all 3 pieces the same size and measurements, while the final piece would not have a point, but instead made to fit just on top of the rest.

Work area looks like a bomb site after stressing over how to cut the wood, after been using card for the past couple of months, but finally a solution has been found.

More tomorrow.

Monday 9th May

Finally the materials are bought. MDF, mask, wood glue.

Last night, I tried some trial models with the MDF, as the models that I made before was with Cardboard or thin card, so getting the right angle & and measurements, and what the best way to attach them together was played with.

Today, I'm going to Play around with the remaining trail MDF, getting the sizes, and the best way to align the wood. Hoping the Large models will be started on by mid-week.

Poster Designs Final.

These images will be used for one of the final poster design. It only needs the yellow text to be screen printed onto it. These designs are now cleaner that the experimental pieces below. After the final design is complete, it will be enlarged in size to either A2 or A1 Poster.
